How to get to Panama from the USA & Canada
Panama City has excellent air links from the USA, typically with non-stop flights from major US gateways (depending on season and airline schedules). In practice, you can usually travel:
Non-stop to PTY from select major US cities, or
With one easy connection via common hubs such as Miami, Houston, Atlanta, New York, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles (routes vary by date).
Flights from Canada
From Canada, you’ll most often fly:
with one connection via major hubs in the USA (e.g., Miami, Houston, New York) or
occasionally via another large international hub, depending on the season.
Typical total travel time from USA:
Non-stop: roughly 4–7 hours (depending on departure city)
With one connection: commonly 7–12 hours total (depending on layover)
Typical total travel time from Canada: usually 9–15 hours (depending on routing and layover).
Important note for Canadian travellers: if your itinerary connects in the USA, you may need to meet US transit/entry requirements (e.g., ESTA for eligible travellers). Always check your specific routing in advance.
